Travelers Country Club of Clear Lake is a member-owned, seasonal recreational vehicle community nestled on 80 acres of shady oak trees with views of our pond and our private 9-hole executive golf course (free to members). Although Travelers is located just 13.5 miles southeast of St. Cloud, it enjoys bountiful wildlife and a quiet, peaceful environment for recreation, relaxation, and renewal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much are the annual dues and fees?
A. The dues are voted on by the elected Board each year. For 2026 the dues are $2,200.

Q. What is included in the dues?
A. The annual dues for members include water, sewer, garbage disposal, use of park facilities including the Clubhouse, activity building, outdoor pool, sauna, tennis court, pickleball court and volleyball court. Golf is free to members and there is a $7 per diem for all guests.
The golf course is not open to the public, you must be an invited guest of a member.

Q. Is the Golf Course really included in the dues?
A. Yes, the golf fees for members are included. There is an annual $60 trail fee for any member wishing to use a cart on the course. The cart trail sticker can be bought at the Clubhouse office.

Q. What is not included in the dues?
A. The only extra costs that would be incurred are for electricity and propane gas that are used and personal property tax (see below). Telephone, internet and satellite dishes would be additional costs, if chosen to have installed. There is free internet use at the Clubhouse.

Q. What months are the park open to members?
A. TCC#1 usually opens the last half of April and closes the second Friday of October. Both the opening and closing dates are weather dependent so fluctuate yearly. The water lines are around 18 inches below ground connecting to each property, so until the ground is thawed, water cannot be turned on. In 2023, for example, water was turned on April 26th and turned off October 13th. In 2024 the water was turned on April 15th and turned off October 11th.

Q. How large of a unit can I have on my lot?
A. You could put almost any size self-contained recreational vehicle or motor home on your lot. Park model trailers are limited to 400 square feet. No tents, tent trailers or converted school buses are allowed.

Q. Can I put an addition on my recreational vehicle or park model trailer?
A. Yes, you can put an addition on your unit. You are allowed a screen room, gazebo or Minnesota room. Gazebos may be no larger than 14 feet at its widest point and may be attached to the main unit by basic construction practices, such as a screened, covered entry, with a total of no more than 400 square feet. Minnesota rooms may be no larger than 400 square feet.

Q. Are there taxes to pay on the units?
A. Yes, you must pay Personal Property Taxes to Sherburne County on the value of your unit and any additions, such as gazebo, Minnesota room, screen room, deck, shed, etc. that is above ground as the park owns the land and pays the property tax on the land portion. The amount of tax will depend on the value and age of the property on each site.

Q. Are you a 55+ community?
A. No, we are open to all age ranges. While many of our residents are close to retirement or have retired, we have many families who own and enjoy having a place at TCC#1 as well.

Q. Can I rent my unit/property out to others?
A. No, the IRS restricts rentals at properties such as TCC#1 as we are a private, non-profit organization/corporation. Per their rules, individuals cannot profit from membership in TCC#1.
